This is a great pumpkin pasta dish that I found which is perfect for a chilly evening. It has all of the flavors of Fall without being too overbearing. The Italian sausage really enhanced the flavors and brought the sauce to a better consistency without it being too creamy. I am not personally one for pumpkin by any means, however this dish was surprisingly subtle when it came to tasting the actual pumpkin ingredient. When I served this, I paired it with a nice field green salad with dried cranberries, pecans, goat cheese, and a light balsamic vinaigrette. For dessert I offered fresh baked pumpkin bread from the pumpkin farm in Flower Mound with a dollop of homemade whipped cream I flavored with a bit of nutmeg. Perfect holiday time meal.
